Web Polls

October 2006 | Current Webpolls

New Manager Training

Our first poll for October, on training for new managers, received the highest number of votes yet on any of our Web Polls. Of the 86 respondents, the majority (52 percent, or 45 individuals) said that their employer does not offer new manager training. Almost 48 percent (41 individuals) said that their employer does offer new manager training. For a more detailed analysis of these surprising results, please see the Related item below this chart.

Flexible Work Schedules

In more promising news for small and midsized businesses, the 80 respondents who voted in our second October Web Poll, on flexible scheduling, overwhelmingly said that their employers offer it in some form to promote work/life balance. Almost 63 percent (50 individuals) said that their employers offer flexible schedules, versus nearly 38 percent (30 individuals) who said that their employers do not offer this benefit.
