We update the employee manual on a periodic basis, as things change that require an update. We have tried to leave our handbook flexible enough to allow our management to make decisions based on an individual's needs without requiring a change in policy.

Gen Y Workers and Special Treatment
Clearly, our audience doesn't work for the types of employers who heap praise and rewards upon Generation Y, per the rising perception seen in the media – only one in 27 respondents said they see the trend of Gen Y workers getting extra rewards. Nearly 60 percent of respondents reported that this is not happening at their firm, and over a third (37 percent) said they didn't know or didn't have enough information to make a determination.

Working to Your Potential
Our audience is also enlightened enough to take the high road and talk to their supervisors if they feel they don't have enough challenging work to fill up the number of hours they were hired to fulfill. Over three-fourths of respondents said they worked with their boss to broaden their role when this was the case. And although two respondents, representing 15 percent of the vote, said they did something else when this situation arose, we didn't hear via our comment form what they did. One respondent said they didn't react when this was the case. No one reported that they looked for a new job in reaction.
